Passion Turned Profession
The Origin
Welcome, I'm Chef Q! Vietnamese-Cajun cuisine is not mine to claim—it carries a rich history and culture of its own. However, I’ve been fortunate to immerse myself in this unique culinary world, thanks to my brother, who owns two successful seafood restaurants, Crab City in San Diego, CA.
While helping run our family restaurants, I met countless customers who fell in love with our Original House Cajun Sauce. Many wanted to take it home, share it with others, and even spread the word about our “secret” recipe. Tourists, in particular, often asked how they could bring our signature sauce back with them.
The idea of making our sauce available to everyone wasn’t an easy decision—my brother always worried about protecting our secret blend. It took a great deal of persuasion and reassurance, but together, we finally made it happen. Now, we’re excited to share the bold, authentic flavors of our Vietnamese-Cajun seafood with the world!

Houston, Texas
Viet-cajun Origin
"Houston food writer Mai Pham explains that the style, though inspired by Louisiana, truly originated in Houston following Hurricane Katrina. “Vietnamese crawfish came about due to Houston’s proximity to Louisiana and crawfish farms,” says Pham. “But demand for the genre grew after Hurricane Katrina and the influx of Vietnamese. It was really in the mid-2000s after the hurricane that the Viet-Cajun movement really took off. What we know as ‘Viet-Cajun’ is therefore a genre that originated in Houston and spread from there.”"
